Tarkine Rainforest Walks
Tarkine Rainforest Walks
Corinna and the Tarkine provide an unforgettable Tasmanian Wilderness Experience. Explore forests of Myrtle, Huon pine and Blackwood, marvel at the abundance of fungi that inhabit the forest floor. We have a range of iconic walks to suit all fitness levels.
A relic of the ancient super-continent, Gondwanaland, the Tarkine contains Australia's largest tract of temperate rainforest, and is home to more than 60 rare, threatened or endangered species. These include such unique animals as the Giant Freshwater Lobster - the world's largest freshwater crustacean, the Tasmanian Wedge Tailed Eagle -Australia's largest eagle, and the famous Tasmanian Devil.
A range of walks, kayak and canoe trips, and cruises on the legendary Arcadia II, are all designed to provide responsible access to this globally significant and sensitive environment. Corinna reveals nature in the raw. Unchanged for 60 million years, the rainforest is literally where dinosaurs roamed.
